Three (or Six) Cheers for a Great Year

In Beau's Kittredge’s recent article, it's great to see a legitimate veteran player that has been in the game for a long time speak so humbly and honestly about the successes we have had in our sport.

In the last year, the ultimate community has made incredible strides in the promotion of our sport.  From Olympic recognition  and the shift in portrayal of ultimate by the media, to the push for gender equality and the successes of the pro-leagues, it’s been a big year for us. Many of these gains are small actions and the work of individuals who leverage their visions and gather the momentum of the community to make great things happen.  And they are generally starting from the ground up.

We are real people making a real difference in our sport.  And the fundamentals on which ultimate is based are governing this direction.  What follows?  Progress?  One hopes that with continued persistence, we can have a continued positive impact on society.  If we start from the ground up, the sky's the limit, right?  I say we boost it.

And, of course, get Evan Lepler there along the way to commentate it all.
